A white marble slab, probably cut from a fragment of a column. Broken and lost at the top and bottom. Preserved dimensions: H. 0.495 m; W. 0.29 m; Th. 0.11 m; letter height 0.019-0.04 m. Found at Büyüknefes (near ancient Tavium). Kept in the Museum of Yozgat.Discussion
The inscription is the epitaph for a presbyter of a church dedicated to unspecified Apostles. The same church is almost certainly mentioned in another epitaph from Tavium, composed for a person, said to have 'found a place of relief, having run to the Apostles' / ἀνέσεως τόπον εὑρὼν τοῖς ἀποστόλοις προσδραμών (see: E01009).Dating: probably late 5th-7th c. (based on the lettering and contents).
