Type of Evidence

Literary - Hagiographical - Accounts of martyrdom

Greek version of the Martyrdom of Therbous/Pherbouthe (BHG 1511)

We have not examined this text, nor compared it to stories of the martyrdom in other languages. It is believed to be based on a
Martyrdom originally written in Syriac (for which see E04330).

Note that translations of hagiographical literature into other ancient languages are not as a rule recorded in the Cult of Saints database, unless there is evidence to suggest that the translation dates from the 7th century or earlier.
