Source
This marble slab of 62 x 33 cm, from the exedra of the cemetery basilica in Dougga, was reconstructed from 26 fragments. The letters are 4 to 4.5 cm high. The church was built at the beginning of the 5th century at the latest, and the letter forms also suggest an early date for the inscription.
Currently in the museum of Tunis.
Discussion
The inscription commemorates the dedication of a portico, probably connected to the basilica, though archaeological excavations have not managed to find it.According to Duval, this church in Dougga was built (with much effort) above a crypt. This suggests that some local martyrs whose names were well known were venerated here.
