A bronze plaque, possibly the lid of a reliquiary, with a text in two lines. It was discovered during the excavations in Barcelona in the church of saint Sever. Dimensions: 3,1 x 5 x 0,3. Now in the collections of the Museu d'Historia de la Ciutat in Barcelona.The inscription is dated palaeographically to the 6th century.
Discussion
It is uncertain which Julian the martyr the inscription refers to. In Hispania it could have been either Julian of Brioude (S00035) or Julian/Ioulianos of Antinoopolis (S01341) as the cults of both these saints are otherwise attested.Bibliography
