Source

The manuscript BnF lat. 5295 (digitised: https://gallica.bnf.fr/ark:/12148/btv1b10548527w), sometimes known as the 'Arles Legendary', was produced in Arles in the 11th century and contains Lives of saints associated with the city. Included in the manuscript are a short Life of Trophimus, the supposed first bishop of Arles, and two sermons on him. These have generally been regarded as late works, dating to around the same period as the manuscript (e.g. Cavallin 1952, 8). In a monograph published in 2002, in which she also published critical editions of these texts, Anke Krüger argued that they in fact dated to the 6th century. The question remains open.
