In this text Jesus answers questions of his disciples concerning the division of everything in the world, from the aeons of light to the animals created, as well as about the number of angels and their order. Gabriel's status, appointed by God as the messenger of life to serve and comfort anyone in affliction, is being discussed.

The parchment manuscript forms part of the Pierpont Morgan Codex M593 (folios 31r– 50r = pages 61–100), was copied in the year 892/893.In the colophon, the scribe named John claims that he has produced this manuscript as a direct copy from an earlier manuscript right in front of him.
