Source

In 1933, a basilica was excavated in Ksar el Kelb. Next to its southern wall, a small monument was found, consisting of a small stone vase surrounded by slabs. On one of them (1.15 m per 48 cm) the inscription was found with regular letters (3.5 to 4.5 cm). The inscription was lost after 1936.

Discussion

The inscription is an unequivocal proof for the cult of *Marculus, one of the best known Donatist martyrs. Another inscription, on the keystone to an itnernal arch, says “Deo laudes h(ic) omnes dicamu(s)”, confirming the Donatist character of the basilica (the expression "Deo laudes" was used mainly, although not exclusively, by the Donatists).
