E01317Painted Greek inscriptions from a cistern-chapel in Salamis/Constantia (Cyprus) with an acclamation of *Barnabas (apostle and companion of Paul the Apostle, 00786), just possibly an acclamation of *Epiphanios (bishop of Salamis, ob. 403, S00215), and with an invocation of *Constantine (emperor, ob. 337, S00186), and the Holy Cross. Probably 6th c.
E02623Isidore of Seville, in his Chronicle (388), mentions the discovery of the body of *Barnabas (apostle and companion of Paul the Apostle, S00786) and of the autograph of the Gospel of Matthew, both during the reign of the emperor Zeno (474-491). Written in Latin in Seville (southern Hispania), in two redactions, in 615/616 and 626.
E02630Victor of Tunnuna, in his Chronicle, tells that the body of *Barnabas, apostle and companion of Paul (S00786) was discovered in Cyprus thanks to a revelation, in 488. Written in Latin in Constantinople, 565/566.
E03766The Church Calendar of Ioane Zosime, compiled in Georgian in the 10th c., based however on 5th-7th c. prototypes from Palestine, commemorates on 10 June *Zechariah (either the father of John the Baptist, S00597, or the Old Testament prophet, S00283), *Barnabas (Apostle and companion of Paul, S00786), *Timothy (Apostle and disciple of Paul the Apostle, S00466), and *Onnophrios (Egyptian anchorite, S00055).

E07031The Greek Life of *Auxibios (follower of the Apostle Mark and first bishop of Soloi, Cyprus, S01377) recounts the life of one of the first bishops of Cyprus and a disciple of the apostle Mark. It provides a foundation narrative for the ecclesiastical community of Soli (Cyprus), and refers to the saint’s tomb which was never opened, and where miracles occur. Written at Soli in the early 7th century.
E07084Alexandros the Monk composes an Encomium of *Barnabas (Apostle, S00786), which he delivers during a festival held at the saint's shrine in Salamis-Constantia (Cyprus). It recounts the life of the apostle and the miraculous discovery of his tomb, which allowed the securing of the ecclesiastical independence of Cyprus from Antioch; it also describes the building of the shrine. Written in Greek in Salamis, 530/566.
E07136The Greek Life of *Herakleides (bishop of Tamasos in Cyprus, S02698) by a certain Rhodon recounts the life and miracles of its hero, presented as a follower of *Barnabas (Apostle, S00786), who established the ministry of the Cypriot Church through numerous ordinations. Written in Cyprus in the 6th or 7th century.
