Homily 4: On Mary and against Nestorius (CPG 5248 = BHG 1151)
The homily was held at the basilica of Mary in Ephesus, during the Council of Ephesus. It consists of exegesis of Marian doctrine in the form of rhetorical praise for Mary, including some polemic against Nestorius.

Homily 11: Encomium on the Holy Mary who gave birth to God (Theotokos) (CPG 5255 = BHG 1154)
A farewell panegyric addressed to the Council and city of Ephesus in 431, including rhetorical praises for the city and John the Evangelist, and a lengthy theologically loaded praise for Mary.

Cyril of Alexandria, bishop of Alexandria (412-444), was one of the dominant figures of the Eastern Church in the early 5th century, and one of the protagonists of the Council of Ephesus in 431, which condemned Nestorius of Constantinople as a heretic.
