| ID | Title | E01096 | The Liber Pontificalis, written in Latin in Rome in the 530s, and re-edited before 546, in its account of *Soter (bishop of Rome, S00700), in its first edition records his burial close to the body of *Peter (the Apostle, S00036) at the Vatican, just outside Rome, but in its second states that he was buried in the cemetery of Callixtus on the via Appia; both versions agree that this was on 22 April [AD 170]. |
