E02533The Latin Martyrdom of *Marinus (martyr of Rome, S01240) narrates the many tortures miraculously endured by Marinus; his death by beheading and burial in an 'elevated place' in Rome by Bishop Theophilus; angels coming down from heaven to adorn his burial place; the death of the emperor Martianus. Probably a translation of a Greek text, written presumably in Rome at an uncertain date, by the late 8th c. at the latest.
E05738John Malalas, in his Chronographia (18.49), reports that in 529 the relics of *Marinos (martyr of Gindarus, S02160) were miraculously found in Gindarus (Syria) and buried at the shrine of *Ioulianos (martyr of Cilicia buried at Antioch, S00305) at Antioch. Written in Greek at Antioch (Syria) or Constantinople, in the mid-6th c.
