E02695Gregory of Tours, in his Glory of the Confessors (74), tells of the chaste marriage, subsequent episcopate, and eventual burial of *Reticius (bishop of Autun, early 4th c., S01291) in Autun (central Gaul): the servants of Reticius were unable to move the bier with his body until a man revealed that he had promised his wife that he would share her tomb; this is then effected. Written in Latin in Tours (north-west Gaul), 587/588.
