Written in Greek at Antioch (Syria) or Constantinople, in the 560s.
E08030The Chronicle of Theophanes Confessor (AM 6050) states that churches in Constantinople dedicated to *Samuel (Old Testament prophet, S01429), *Mary (Mother of Christ, S00033), and *Vincentius/Vincent (deacon of Zaragoza and martyr of Valencia, S00290), and churches in the nearby town of Rhegion dedicated to *Stratonikos (martyr of Rhegion, S02163) and *Kallinikos (martyr of Gangra, S00923), collapsed during an earthquake in 557. Chronicle compiled in the Byzantine Empire in the early 9th c., using extracts from earlier Greek texts.
