Written in Latin, probably in North Africa, c. 422.
E02025Gregory of Tours, in his Histories (2.16), recounts the procuring from Bologna (northern Italy) of relics of *Agricola and Vitalis (master and slave, martyrs of Bologna, S00310) for an impressive new cathedral in Clermont (central Gaul), built by the bishop of Clermont, Namatius (c. 446-462). The supposed 'first version' is a forgery written in the 16th c., on the basis of the 'second version', which probably dates from the 9th c.
